It is worth noting that in connection with the identification of cases of illegal alienation of buildings and land plots of cultural and recreational parks and in order to avoid such cases, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the khokimiyats of 12 regions and the Tashkent city have carried out an inventory of all state-owned cultural and recreational parks.

As a result of the inventory, it was determined that 262 parks are on the balances of 153 organizations, some of which are abandoned and unattended, and that no systematic work is being done to manage them, and suggestions have been developed for their targeted use.

The suggestions developed in the form of a draft decree were sent for approval to 11 ministries and agencies, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the khokimiyats of all regions and the Tashkent city through the Unified Electronic System for the Development and Approval of Draft Legal and Regulatory Acts (project.gov.uz).

The draft decree does not provide for privatization or other procedure of alienation of parks.

On the other hand, the Academy of Sciences provided its suggestions on exclusion of "Botanical Garden" from this draft decree today October 7, 2023 through the system project.gov.uz.

Based on the suggestion of the Academy of Sciences, "Botanical Garden" was excluded from the draft decree.

This draft decree will be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers in the prescribed manner after finalization, taking into account the suggestions of ministries and agencies, as well as the public.
