Today, March 23, 2022 Director of the State Assets Management Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akmalhon Ortikov held a meeting with the Regional Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Europe and Central Asia Wiebke Schloemer.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in privatization, as well as in the chemical and fertilizer industries in Uzbekistan.
The director of the State Assets Agency said that cooperation with the IFC as a strategic consultant for the privatization of JSC "Ferghanaazot" plays a significant role in attracting potential investors to the country.
Ms. Schloemer underlined that the work done in privatization of state assets is impressive and this cooperation between organizations in the privatization of one of the leading enterprises of the chemical industry is the first step to building a long-term strategic partnership and expressed the readiness of the IFC to fully assist in the privatization process to qualitatively achieve the goals set for UZSAMA.
At the same time, the parties considered issues of further strengthening cooperation and increasing the number of joint projects.
