The law "On the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was adopted on November 18, 1991 at the VII-th extraordinary session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
State symbols are signs of independence, freedom, peace and stability of every nation. Regardless of the period of our national history, the flag was a symbol of freedom, strength, courage and victory for our ancestors.
Since March 2, 1992, our flag began to fly in front of the Headquarters of the United Nations Organization as a symbol of recognizing Uzbekistan to be a sovereign republic.
