In recent years, on the basis of resolutions adopted in the direction of reducing the state's participation in the economy, enterprises with state participation have consistently carried out work to identify assets that are not characteristic of the core business and to liquidate them.
In accordance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan ‘On Management of State Property’, the privatisation programme will be developed based on the results of annual analysis and inventory.
In particular, based on the results of analysis and accounting carried out in 2023, the privatisation programme for 2024 was approved, and it includes a list of about 250 state enterprises and their shares, and more than 1,000 real estate objects.
In particular, the programme includes 23 assets of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, which are currently on the market with private entrepreneurs and are not specific to their activities. Among them 4 kindergartens of the system enterprise of the company.
It is worth noting that the resolution of the privatisation programme states that the conditions for the sale of social sphere objects, including the conditions for retaining the type of activity, will be determined by the Commission for Privatisation of State Property and Coordination of Privatisation Processes.
In this regard, these kindergartens will not be put up for public sales until the work to identify specific measures to ensure their continuous and effective operation is completed, and 4 kindergartens of ‘Shurtan gaz kimyo majmuasi’ LLC will not be sold, they will be temporarily left at the disposal of the enterprise.
At the same time, it should be additionally stressed that the empty objects that were (former) objects of the social sphere are included in the privatisation programme in coordination with the Ministry of the relevant sector, the peculiarity is that such former objects of the social sphere are supposed to be privatised subject to the establishment of private institutions in the field of education, pre-school education, health care.
