On November 2 of the current year, the State Assets Management Agency together with the consulting company "Abrau Capital" organized a training for the employees of the Agency on "Financial Modeling for Attracting Capital". The training was conducted by Armanbay Dzhubaev, the partner of Abrau Capital.

For reference: Mr. Dzhubaev has over 20 years experience in the fields of management consulting, strategy, production optimization and financial modeling. His projects are spread over the USA, Russia and Kazakhstan. A. Dzhubaev is independent director of Kazakhtelecom JSC and Samruk-Energy JSC in Kazakhstan. The lecturer got MBA at the University of California Berkeley, he is a member of CFA association since 2012.

The seminar participants studied the concepts of competitive advantage of an asset, financial structuring and portfolio approach to the selection of investment projects.

At the same time A. Dzhubaev held a workshop on building a financial model "from scratch" to determine the valuation of the asset. After the workshop the participants had an active discussion on peculiarities of using assumptions and multipliers for asset valuation in Uzbekistan and CIS.

At the end of the event, the participants noted receiving practical skills in building financial models and levers to improve the investment attractiveness of state assets for further implementation in the Agency's activities.
