The State Assets Management Agency provided a summary report on the performance of enterprises with state participation to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis

Modern standards of transparency and accountability play an important role in increasing the investment attractiveness and efficiency of enterprises with state participation.

In this regard, in accordance with the instructions provided for by the State Anti-Corruption Program for 2021-2022, (approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 06.07.2021 No. PD-6257), as well as the Strategy of management and reform of enterprises with state participation, (approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of 29.03.2021 No.166) The State Assets Management Agency was instructed to put into practice the annual submission of a report on the performance of enterprises with state participation and the use of state property to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.

In this regard, on September 15 of this year, the State Assets Management Agency presented its first consolidated report on the results of the activities of enterprises with state participation and the use of state property in 2021 to the Committee on budget and economic reforms of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.

It should be noted that the summary report form was developed in cooperation with International Financial Institutions (the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Development Bank) and foreign experts, based on international best practices in corporate governance, in particular, the reporting of Sweden, Norway, Finland, New Zealand and Latvia.

The report is an annual aggregated information about enterprises with state participation, including the management system, performance results, financial development and important procedures that occurred in the reporting year. Also, in addition to information on enterprises with state participation, the report provides information on the performance of UzSAMA, including terms of privatization and state property management.

Therefore, as of January 1, 2022, the number of enterprises with state participation was 2,144, of which 231 were joint-stock companies, 871 limited liability companies, 1,042 state unitary enterprises owned by 72 ministries and departments.

In 2021, the total revenue of enterprises amounted to 287.5 trillion soums, net profit of 32.1 trillion soums, however, 335 enterprises ended their operations with a loss of 8.9 trillion soums. 52.7 trillion soums in taxes and 13.9 trillion soums in dividends were paid to the state budget, which amounted to 40.5 percent of state budget revenues.

The number of employees working in enterprises with state participation in the reporting year amounted to 575.6 thousand people or 4.2 percent of the total employed population.

In addition, the report contains information on the implementation of the tasks provided for Strategy of management and reform of state-owned enterprises.

A summary report on the performance of enterprises with state participation and the use of state property will be submitted annually to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
